HAAS VF-3 1997 Tool changer problem

HAAS VF-3 1997 Tool changer problem. When the tool changer indexes out to the spindle to load the tool, it faults out. Says tool changer fault. I've checked the index limit switches by watching them on the crt screen; turns from 1 to 0 & the other from 0 to 1, according if it's indexed out or in.
I've also checked the other switches for #1 position. wasn't sure where to look for them at so I swaped the cable plugs & got the alarm for #1 position so guessed it was working. The 4 relays on the I/O board; someone said you could switch 2 of them around, but mine don't seem to be able to be pulled out.
Thanks in advanced for the help.

    hello

i have a similar problem in a Vf4 and a Vf2 machines. the solution for me was change the quickexaust valve of the TRP. becouse like you check the change of the bits in the diagnostic screen, change it 0 to 1 but after some time the trouble repeats.

i hope my experience helps you.

    best regards
