    Haas VF2 Air Supply

I have just taken in a VF2 and a compressor which has turned out to be a real dog and wont hold compression. So I have had to power up the haas with no air supply and as such I cant clear alarm 108. The question is does this prevent the machine from homing as I have had no movement yet or is there another problem

When the Alarm is active the servos do not have power.

I think if you hit Reset to cancel the alarm then hit Auto Restart the machine will start homing. BUT DON'T DO THIS!!!!! At the end of the homing sequence it runs the toolchanger so you will finish up with a tool changer alarm and the machine stopped with the shuttle in. (I think)
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

If you change param 76 (low air delay) from 1500 to something like 9999 it will give you time to home out everything adn move the axis's. do not use the power up restart just home out the axis's individually and you should be fine.

I wouldn't risk a crash. I'd borrow a portable compressor or even hook up a portable air tank. Is it really worth crashing a tool changer, breaking a drawbar, homing switch or ruining the way covers over some compressed air?

Go rent an air compressor from a tool rental business like Home Depot.
