Hey guys, well got my machine running, and i cut a few parts that were not circles and everything seemed ok. I am cutting some circles out of pink foam, and on one side its 3.01 and then if you measure around it goes down to 2.95 in one spot or side.
I am running antibacklash nuts on 1/2" acme rods, with .500" per rev travel, using 387oz motors, with a Gecko 540 drive, rapids are 120 ipm, and cutting speed is 50ipm in Mach 3. I am using a .25" spiral upcut bit, at about 18k rpm, which is the lowest my router will do.
Anyone have any suggestions? Could i just be seeing a little racking on the X axis? My y axis is super solid, and my x has a slight wiggle. Or am i just asking too much for the resolution of my machine? I should be able to get a decent circle shouldn't I??
Thanks, Andy
