Lets see if this is what you want.
It is metric but you will need a 1/8 router bit.

Pythagoras, sorry for not getting back to you earlier.
Thankyou once again for all your help, the second code
was small enough to fit on my machine, however not
sure what happened as it was removing the excess
waste between the i and the l of phil the machine
went crazy and started removing material from where
the p and the h was. I didn't have enough time and
I used the simple phil code that vlady sent as the
sample to show the customer. Since then I have
dissassembled the machine to finish the aluminum
so machine looks pretty (haha) The sample was
enough to show customer. When I reassemble the
machine I will try the code again, I'm sure that it
was something that I did that went wrong.
Once again thankyou for all your help I really
    appreciate your time!!

If all you want for the near future is just something relatively easy to use, grab a copy of DeskEngrave, the price is right, and while it does have limits, it will let you USE your machine while you try and figure out which package is right for you, and within your budget..

    enjoy

Thanks for your offer troyswood, I don't actually need any
code right now, vladdy and pythagoras send me some code
to show my machine in motion, I had tried deskengrave to
create code for the word "phil" and ended up with 2 3d
boxes, I was just asking if anyone knew what I did wrong??
Now that I have a working machine, the next curve is
learning cad/cam. I had assumed that deskengrave was
a good starting point to create something.
What software did you use to create the picture??

Bobcad/cam is one of the software packages I am looking at.
Still looking at what each package has to offer and sit down
and think of all of the things that I am going to make on the
machine so I can make an educated decision.
I will keep you in mind.

Not sure what you did wrong.. you are on the steep part of the learning curve..

anyways, I tried it here, typed in the text in the text box, selected a font and a larger size, and got the preview on the center box in the program..
Only change from default was to select a depth of 0.05 in the parameters menu..

saved as g-code, and ran through a simluator, and seemd to come out ok..

secondly, I was looking at BobCad here last week, but other things cam up and funds are too tight. They had [probably still have] a deal on V19, at [not sure] 500 or 600 US... pretty cheap as it's no longer the current version. Best part is price to upgrade to 20, anytime, even next day, was I think 395 US..
A rather large saving over just buying 20 a retail on their site..
I talked to Nate there at BobCad if it matters..

    G'day Chas
Here is a G code for you. You will have to edit the start and end of the program as this is for a metal milling centre.
    Good luck
