I fired up the Kia turning center this AM to find these alarms:

AL 52 turret clamp time over
AL 56 turret abnormal stop
AL 55 power off in indexing

These alarms came about after I noticed that the turret would do several tool changes at its normal rate of speed, the the next tool change would be at half speed. You can stand and manually do tool changes with the turret index button and get this to happen all the time; fast, fast, slow, fast, fast, fast, slow......no consistency. The machine has not been crashed in any way. You can eliminate 52 and 56 by pressing the turret button and the select button at the same time - this leaves the AL 55 alarm - and we have found no way to get rid of it. Before the AL55 alarm came on, you could run a short program for a few seconds and then the 52 and 56 alarms would come on.

Anyone out there with experience with this?

I run a '96 KiaTurn 21 with a Yasnac LX3 control.
I just today got the AL55 alarm and the machine will not run.
Same symptoms.
The paper thin book that comes with the machine has a big blank spot next to the AL55 alarm.....
I sure would like to know something before tearing into it.
No manuals and no tech support for this machine at all.
If a solution is found I will post it.
Personally,If I bought a CNC It would require ALL service manuals to be included.

The AL55 alarm is related to the turret being "lost".
The procedure to reset to tool 1 again cleared that damn alarm.
Index tool manually to tool 1.
push e stop
press spindle stop, select(on right side of control), and feed hold all at the same time.
Call tool 1 via MDI.
Problem solved.
The machine is a '97 with an LX3 control.

Does anyone know what makes AL 52 to pop up ? i did the same thing as MAZ said but i like to know whats makes this alarm to show up !
