What kind of machine is it? Did you buy it somewhere, or did you build it yourself? When you turn it on, do the motors lock up, so they can't be spun by hand?
To make Mach3 work, you either need a control box set up to run through a USB. serial, or ethernet port and a computer with a parallel port running a 32-bit version of Windows, or a more modern computer with some kind of adapter that will run it through a USB or ethernet port. Then you have to configure a XML profile in Mach3 that sends step/direction signals to your drivers through the correct logic connections as noted on the pin-out chart for your particular machine.
my dad built it piece by piece as he ordered it. he has it all wired and everything. he has used it muiltiple times.. it all lights up.
when i plug the pc into the mach3 motion control board. nothing happens. its like they dont recognize each other
i have a mach3 license. several software downloads. i know im missing something simple. but not sure
yes sorry full power up it cant be turned by hand
It's good that the motors lock up when powered. That shows it isn't dead, and that it's most likely a communication problem you're experiencing. This "mach3 motion control board" you mention - is that something your dad built from scratch, or is it a standard product made by a company? Is your dad not able to explain how this machine used to work? Some pictures, showing the control board, and how the drivers are wired, would help.
i got it moving. but the 2 y motors dont work together. they move but only thru 1 plugin. x and z work perfect
my dad passed away and i inherited the machine. its a mach3 control board. i just didnt have the rnr control file in the rite spot. it moves now but the 2 y axis has an issue
