Measure the handwheel turns per distance traveled for each head piece if you have wheels mounted. This should get it close. Otherwise I guess contacting sherline for a description of the leadscrews shipped would be the way....

I have heard that the Sherline mill feedscrew is 20 TPI.

There's a small button that says "Calc" next to the step size in the dialog for axis setup. If you click this, a little window pops up that lets you enter TPI, steps/rev, microstepping, etc and it figures it out for you.

If you want to do it longhand:

    Start with the number 1.
    Divide by TPI (20?).
    Divide by steps/rev (200)
    Divide by microstep ratio (8)
Divide by gear ratio (1 for no reduction)

So about 0.00003125" per step or so...
