    Help with Serial Comm

    Hello Every body

Im working on a retrofit of an Anayac CNC mill 1989, it has 3 140v DC servomotor, im using the new viper 200, but after connecting the motor to the drive i probe the communication betwen the drive and the PC using Hyperterminal, then i turned on the 12V power, and in the Hyperterminal screen appears the "LKR" but it does not allow me to write anything, even the ":" did not appear. I allready probe with 2 different PC`s but the result is the same!.

    Any suggestion?

    Thank you very much

    Hello Larry

I already have communication with the PC and the Viper Drive, now i tunned the motor, and everything goes fine, but whrn i probe it with mach 3 it loses the zero position!!! im using an incremental A and B channel encoder, i try to follow the error in the viper with the "M" command and it displays me diferent numbers betwen the M and S while the motor is moving but when it stops magically the erros appears as ZERO, but phisically the motor did not arrive ti the Zero position.

    Any IDEa?

Are you using a differential encoder or single ended ?
