Help Setting the Read-Out for lathe?

I have a uniq sds2l readout for our lathe and our operator has tried to switch the readout to read diameter instead of radii. This way he can move in and see exactly what he is taking off. Anyone have any ideas...there is a R/D button but I cant get it to do anything?

clear any measurement in the X axis. Then press the X axis button. Then press the Rad/Dia. button. This will switch the display. Caution...... You may also need to set the muliplier of the axis based on the pitch of the lead screw.
