    hesitation after m code

1993 vmc15, after any m code entered, e.g. m6t1, the machine sits and waits for a least 4-6 seconds before it moves. has anyone had this problem, and what is a possible fix? Thanks.

I'm not sure of what type of machine you have or the controls, but maybe you should try to pre position the tool.

Just to clarify After ANY M code?
    M6 M3 M8 M19?
Sounds like controller or wiring problem.
If it is only on 1 M code I would think it is the relay.
Check to see if your input control voltage is correct on the feed side of your relays, could have a bad low voltage PS

Its a Fadal VMC 15 with a standard control 88 (serial # 9305356)(Built in 1993). The system software has been updated to 102.1, and has memory upgraded to 422k total memory. Its happens when using any m code( machine hesitates(there is a noticable delay). And it happens every time, all the time.

When the upgrade was done, was the zero memory procedure done? Also, do you know what software version was in the machine before the upgrade?

Do you have rigid tapping and do you have any issues with it breaking taps? Does the spindle act erratic at the high range of either low or high gear? If so sounds like your encoder is dirty.
