    Exclamation High speed mill - final project !

    Hello everyoane!

    I'm last year at industrial engineering and i need to build a high speed spindle for my final project. For me it's first time when need to do this type of project and i don't know how to calculate bearing life or other stuff and principle of operation...

    My project data are:

    Vf = 7000 mm/min
    N = 36000 tr/min
    Dc = 10 mm (dimeter of the tool)
    Zn = 2
    ae= 10 mm
    ap= 2 mm

    Wait, if your a last year shouldn't you be able to do that..?
    Alot of this kind of work will be via example. Find info on a given bearing, then compare it to other types. Needle, tapered, etc.

    it's not very difficult to build, but i need some advice from people with experience...

    In finding your bearings, first you will need to know what the outside diameter of the spindle shaft will be, were the bearings will be fitted, Then find a matched pair of precision bearings the size for you spindle diameter, At this point you will have a Bearing with the inside diameter measurement

    You can then look up the bearing specicfication, to see if this will work for your spindle design, you will have more than one choice at this point as you have the inside measurement for the bearing, you will find 3 may be 4 different outside diameters to choose from, I'm sure you will find one in the range of the specifications for your spindle

    A big problem for me, is the spring sistem.. i don't know exactly how works this sistem, and i don't know how to calculate bearings... i have distance between bearings and i have this data (rezults from calcul):


    Vc = 1130.4 m/min
    Vf= 35981.74 mm/min
    Fz= 0.09 mm
    Q= 140 cm3/min
    Kc= 600 N/mm2 - Aluminium
    Pc= 1.316 Kw
    f= 0.18 mm/tr
    Kr= 90 grade = 1
    k=70grade, sin k = 0.94 for monoblock
    Mc= 1.175 Nm - Cuple
    Ff = 319.78 N -

    The spring system, I don't use this anymore, in my spindle builds, the spring system is only for heat expansion

    The 2 bearings in the front of the spindle are fixed & matched pair, no spacers needed for small spindles, the top bearing or drive end bearing, I now use a needle roller or roller bearing which then allows for the expansion without the springs & floating bearing
