This may be waaaaay out in left feild, and not the prettiest way do do it..

One time I started to apply a heavy layer of ABS juice to my heated glass with no tape (while it was fully heated to 110c I think, oops). It caused a crusty rough (from the boiling, lol) surface. The thick jagged layer + the melting metal might just stick together. extremely cheap test either way.

Won't hurt to try either, it stuck the abs print down good and tight when I used the abs glue before.

Buy sticky backed palm sander 60 grit or so sand paper. Stick it to your bed and print directly on it. May work?

Hey again Hoss, hope I'm not being a pain.
That combo board you and I both have, are you putting in 12v or 24v?
It appears to have a taurino board (so good to 35V) but the seller says 12v...?

I have 24v going to it, sure you got the universal power version? the regular boards have a diode so 12v is max.
They made sure to say 24v on the one I got.

Thanks, I tried some emery cloth though today, no dice, didn't come close to sticking.
Tried some of the materials suggested without much luck but I tried duct tape that was sitting in front of me for the heck of it.
It worked ok which led me to try a scrap of PLA which worked very well. ABS sheet next.

Damn I feel like an idiot...
I ordered the Ultimate kit not the Universal kit.
    Crap.

I wonder how much slower this is going to be 12V and whether or not I can order a Taurino to improve to 24v.

LUCKILY, I haven't hooked it up yet. Else that 24V powersupply might have had a field day.
    Welp, $22 for a 12V 20A on it's way. Problem solved I suppose.

There shouldn't be a huge difference in speed, I can run my prusa at 12v about as fast as this at 24v though they do run smoother and quieter at 24v.
The big benefit I found is heating, the hotend gets to temp in about 5 seconds at 24v.
If you care to try, according to the RAMPS page, removing diode D1 allows running at more than 12v.

    Thanks Hoss.
I need to find a wiring diagram when I do this all next week... before I screw it all up

Also... Wow that's loud when doing the pewter. Is it always that loud?? O.o

There are diagrams at the top of the page i linked for the diode.
it was running really slow, they run quieter at normal speed.

Any ideas Hoss on how to make a temporary shaft coupler?
I was sent the wrong size ones from China so apparently need to wait another 2 weeks and it's practically the only thing holding me back.
5mm by 6.35mm (1/4") seems tough to source.

Yeah still the same shipping time and more expensive.
China was $3 a pop or so for aluminum helical's.
I might try the clamping method I see on printed couplers, but instead in MDF... no idea how or if that'll work though.

What are you coupling the stepper to?

Hey quick question for you Hoss.
The kit came with a nice wire setup, I soldered the colors to the matching color wires on my steppers.
Just was about to plug them into the board though... And noticed they don't match the color pinout on the recommended ramps wiki.
Did yours match? Should I de-pin and move the pins about?

Thank you again and sorry to bother you.

Should be orange(or red), blue, green, black.

    Is that what you have?

where did you get your steppers, they should have have a diagram showing which wires are for the 2B, 2A, 1A, 1B connections.

Ebay from a big retailer, the stepper colors are fine, it was the cables from Reprapdiscount. I paperclipped them and changed them all over.
Seem to run fine and in the right direction. So no harm done!
