Hi guys, does anyone have tips on how to face perfecly squared surfaces on a lathe? How to make like a cube with all faces parallel to each other and squared as well...
I have 4 jaw chuck, normally I just get the stock material and first face one side then I turn the part and make sure the faced size sits on the ground part of the chuck firmly and then face the other side, that gives a relatively good parallel within the faces but to square I'm never able to get it right, most of the times what I get use to work for me but now I need to make a part with more precise square...
Most of the times when doing the parallel process I see that the part actually moved a little bit when I tighten the chuck harder. Actually the harder is to tight without moving.
Thanks to all
