    How to machine this part?

    Hello fellow MC users...

I was wondering if anyone of you can offer some insight as to the best approach to machine this part. I know it it very simple, and I can do some simple pocket cuts, but notice how one edge is at an angle.

If I was going to machine this from the top (as the wcs is currently oriented) is there a way to machine the tenon part, while maintaining the angle on the edges? I guess this is what I need help with, but I could not figure out a toolpath in mastercam to help me do it. I know there is probably some parameter which I am not providing MC. Using MC x2.

Any help would greatly be appreciated...thanks in advance!

I did this with tow different tools one a .25 sharp and a .25 ball to let you see both. I used flowline for the path.

there is a lot more to flowline than I thought!

Thanks! That looks promising...now to actually go cut it...from the simulation it seems pretty straight forward.

THanks again for taking the time to look at this.

    Thanks CadCam

Your program look very good ,but we need to make 2 ops to finish the contour, the way cutting not perfect
programming this part on 2D is better than programming on solid

    Thank you so much

I am not sure what you are saying as this was 2D cutting. Are you saying not as a good because I have to ops to finish?
I also can do in one op I chose two do to the shape and making more effecent path.

need help to draw a part and creating toolpaths

I was wondering if anyone of you can help me make this part. I understand it to be very simple for MC users. This just doesn't happen to be my field of expertise. and I have just started learning the basics to creating geometry in mastercam. I need to machine this part in my uni workshop's CNC milling machine as part of an assignment.

    Using MC x2.

Any help would greatly be appreciated
    thanks in advance!

The first drawing look so confuse to me.
Your drawing missing some dimension, radius and depth,

I use Solid Sweep to make an example cut

Take a look at the attach file

the profile of the curved surface is defined by a parabola y=1/170 x(square)

the way i can think of doing it is, creating the parabola and then revolving it 360. and then superimposing the resulting paraboloid on the base and then doing a boolean subtraction. or is there an easier way of doing this.?
