Dan you are in the right section to ask question and find lots of information. Best advice is to do alot of researching. But to start you off in the right direction you will want to look at Jgro build, Joe cnc model 2006, Solsylva, Rockcliff builds. They have a wealth of info. If you are not to good at woodworking I believe Joe2006 offers a kit for his build. Good luck
thank you im really looking forward to have cnc stuff. but to start off do you know any website that can give so much about first time building?
You have found it. I don't think you can find any place on the net that has the info you can find here.![]()
I still have not started mine, I’am having a slight problem convincing the wife that I can build one. I tell her I can, she point to the garage full of have finished projects. Maybe she is right, I should just buy one.
Are you looking for plans or the process from going from computer to machine.
If you are looking for plans then do a search here and google with any one of those names above. Rockcliff and the soslvya plans you are going to have to pay for. The Jgro and Joe2006 have awesome support here and the planes are posted free here.
For the machining process you will need to go something like this. CAD-CAM-Controller-Machine
Cad programs are a dime a dozen. Some are really expensive and others are free. I personally use Cadstd. and it is free. Not the best but not the worst by any means.
Cam is a breed all on its own this is what takes your part and makes commands for your controller. Mach3 has a free cam program called Lazy Cam. Another inexpensive one is called Sheetcam and the one I use is called Vcarve(I love it)
Your Controller is the last process of things inside the computer. Basically it tells the machine were to move. I use Mach3 but there is another one out there that is slipping my mind. Mach3 is free up to 2,000 lines of gcode.
Hope this helped.
Gee, I don't know what you are looking for. Have you read any of the post on this forum before you asked your question? This is the site for building a home made cnc. Read the posts, download some of the plans, and if you come up with specific questions that you can't find answers for, ask.
I don't mean to be rude, it is just that your question is like walking into a library and asking the librarians if they know of a place a person could go to find a book to read.
well it is my first time. i dont know anything about assembling it but i use to work with cnc long ago. I would like to get cheap one but i crashed in here seems love it. The only thing im worrying about is i need to refresh g-code and stuff
