How to put a threaded hole on the outside of a cylinder?

As the title says, I have tried using a plane tangent to the surface to properly locate where I wanted the hole. But hole wizard will not allow me to do so. I'm able to place a point any where on the OD surface that will allow the feature, but it is not defined to my specs. My specs are, holes at 45 deg, 90 deg, and 135 deg. What is the proper way to do this?

    Thanks.

Insert->reference geometry->plane defined by angle should be ok

Hole wizard does 3d holes well (will create a point on the surface).
Dimension your angles from a plane through the length of the cyl.
Your location down the cyl can be fixed by being coincident to another plane or dimensioned from a surface.
Constraining 3D holes is the only real challenge, once you learn a few techniques it becomes very simple.

Here is what I've done, I first offset a plane at the a 45deg angle to the right plane, then I sketched a retangle onto the plane, then I made a planar surface, then I sketched and dimensioned the point for the hole location. Then I used the hole wizard to spec what type of hole. After all that, I get this message saying, No valid edges for the cosmetic thread creation found.
I get a hole, but no dotted line for the thread. I still haven't been able to do it any other way.

    Thanks.

Ok, right after I posted my last reply, I found out that I shouldn't be using the 3D sketch option in the hole wizard. I didnt realize, you just select the plane you want to draw on, and define as needed. I kept thinking, you should select the 3d sketch, that was the only way I able to sketch.

    Thank you for the Help!!!
