What is the tube under the table? It looks like it is moving with the torch. Is this some sort of downdraft system?

    downdraft

thats correct its a catch basin that moves with the Y axis and is connected to 2--4 inch intakes to a blower system vented outside, switched on/off from the front consol.
Also greg is considering putting 3 pans of 1/2 water in the tray

This is a clip of a Hypertherm Powermax1250 and a Hypertherm Sensor PHC torch height control system on a Gorilla cnc cutting machine. Unfortunately....the cut quality that the video shows is pretty ugly.....I wish people would set the proper parameters when posting video of a system like this that has the ability to cut very nice!

    ugly cut

well yes thats true but there us a lot more to this story the video cannot show,we have just got this machine running and had lots of problems and no help as gorilla is out of business ,no phone contact no warranty and its a new delivered machine .Very unfortune situation so to get this far is good and things will get better.
So if you have suggestions on settings we would appreciate them

I'd be happy to help you out.....You have one of the best torch height controls on that machine....it has ohmic contact for finding the surface of the plate before every cut.....and you have a great plasma system.....dialed in as designed the cuts will e very nice. let me know what materials you are cutting and I'll help you with torch height settings, plasma cut speeds and consumable parts selections.

From the video......too mcuh power (amps), torch standoff too high (high arc voltage), cut speed too slow.....

    Best regards, Jim Colt
