I hand draw doodles using a ballpoint pen on paper, how to use CNC to draw it

Vectric V12, Mach3, Windows 10 pro. A diy CNC using Gecko 51, Smoothstepper es

I doodle on paper with black ink, if I take a photo and inport it, I want to use the CNC to enlarge the drawing. But when the CNC draws it there are two lines very close together.
How do I get it to draw just one line?
    Thanks

Thanks, testing that if replies are sent to my email I had this problem in the past

It sounds like what it's doing is detecting the outside edges of your lines. See if you can get Vectric to offset them to the middle. If that's not possible, you might have to trace the curves manually, or find different software.

I think I get your question and will watch the thread because I don't think VCarve can "centerline trace".

Just the other day, I needed to trace an object such that I would get a single line instead of two you describe when I was working in VCarve.

I searched for a "centerline Trace" option but did not find one. So, I also have an older copy of Signlab, and they do offer that as a tracing option, so I had to use that.It basically creates a single line in the dead middle of any two lines, similar to how Vcarve creates Vcarving toolpaths, but without the corner zags and lifts.

I wish I could do it with Vcarve..... My Signlab is a Dongle locked program that I still have to run on a windows 7 Laptop. Can't get the dongle to be recognized in Win10-11. Oh, I can, but only at great cost by upgrading the software.

I have a feeling that I might understand the problem, but I'm not sure of the best way to fix it,as I haven't actually done it.The root of the matter may be that you are doing a raster to vector conversion and the raster mage you are beginning with is having both sides of the line traced. It might help if you scale down the size of the photograph and there are several pieces of free software that will do it,one of them is GIMP and you can select either a percentage reduction or a pixel size as the target size. With perhaps a 40% reduction and using the Vectric software to convert the smaller image to a vector format, the problem may no longer exist.I believe that Inkscape may be another way to do the raster to vector conversion, but I have found it the least intuitive piece of software I have ever encountered, however you might find it necessary to fight your way through the learning process if the outcome will work for you.For specific Vectric questions there is a fairly active forum at https://forum.vectric.com/ .
