The CamBam forum is a complete joke, who in their right mind would carry on like this ?

I wouldn't mind as much if it were various problems, but it's the same problem every time. It always starts with the CGI buffer pool filling up, and eventually it takes the entire site down. Every time, the same error.

Please, Andy -- don't just clear the buffers; please fix it!

Website seems to be consistently down with 503 error

Does anyone know why it keeps breaking? Is it because the server hardware is dying or running out of disk space? Because it's running on ancient software with security vulnerabilities?

I have tested the server cambamcnc.com, ip 95.128.15.161.It is apparently only the http service that does not work.
All other services, as far as they can be tested from outside, work.

The reasons for a “503 Service Unavailable” error are mainly server overload, server maintenance, spam attacks and faulty programming, faulty server or client configurations.

The best way to get the server up and running again is to restart it. Then someone with the necessary knowledge and access rights must check the server.

It has nothing to do with an old forum software, old php or database errors if a server displays the “503 Service Unavailable”.

Yep, unfortunately only Andy can do that ...

I have been in and out of the site successfully all day (AEDT) so, hopefully, thanks to Andy for rectifying the issue.

Table '.\cbforum\smf_sessions' is marked as crashed and should be repaired.

Try running forum maintenance from the admin cp - optimizing tables and so.

Do you have access to the tables with phpMyAdmin?
Maybe via a hosting control panel like Plesk.
You could also use it to repair the table.
Select the table in phpMyAdmin and click “repair”.

No, I can't access to the table files.

Site is back, but not the forum.

    Right.

I also have access to the mail account linked to the "support" page and to the orders done through the shop ...

The support page is no longer working since ... months .. and the fastspring shop page is also out of order since the 24/03 .. no way to paid for a license, the site always return an error ... so since ~ 20 days no orders can be done ... but Andy seems to not worry about that ?? .. of course I warned him, but as usual since 2023, with no reply ...

I think he's just given up on allowing David and us to 'support' his product. It's kind of hard to convince someone to use a product being actively sold, when the author won't even allow the users to support it!

I was just getting ready (a couple years ago now) to start a video series for beginners using CamBam when the author seemed to quit all kinds of support, upgrades, bug fixes, etc.

A major bug fix update alone would be HUGE!

Hey Andy! I'll buy a third bloody license if you just do a major bug fix update sometime soon. Particularly if it includes the 3D resolution bugs I have documented.

I know. I know. Its flipping gauche how us bloody Americans think money is so important. Well tell us what is flipping important then. Respect? Okay. I respect the product and I would respect it more if it had all or at least most of the documented bugs fixed.
