Cut these for a sign shop
Cut these for a sign shop
Wow I have not posted here in a while. Had some jobs in between but I forgot to snap pics and post them. Got a huge list for signs but now they want to break them down in smaller lots. Bought the PVC sign foam today and I will start this weekend.

Pic's of the new projects please!

Here is freebie job for a friends house. The solid surface routs really well.
Beautiful work. What material did you use?

The most I can tell you that its some sort of acrylic solid surface (corian). I had picked it up in a friends wood shop who had it in the corner.
Pics of sliding sign. Two pieces if 1/2" sign foam, the top part recessed to hold the sliding face which was made from 3mm sign foam. It was backed with speaker fabric to prevent the ever present idiots who will press hard on the sign and scratch the lettering.
The second sign is a custom wet floor sign for a hotel. I used stainless steel hinges and put in a handle for easy transport.

Got an order for fifteen caution signs show in the post above.
The general manager from a sister hotel saw them and had his deputy place an order the next day.
I have also been told to look out for an order from a third related hotel.
I forgot to get pics of the wet paint version which simply involves the 'slipping man' replaced with a 'paint brush' and replacing the word 'floor' with 'paint'

Nice work, the signs look great!

Great work and congrats on making more income from your JGRO
Thanks guys.
Did this one for fun and it came out pretty good.
The bit took a big chunk out of the hold down on the right Pic1,
which is why I always use plastic ones.
Pic 2: Just before painting .
Pic 3: Painted with a rattle can flat black and masking removed.

Also did more hinged signs but forgot to take the pics before delivery.
Solid surface material 1/2" thick 9"x7".
Carved this piece several weeks ago. I think I will get a keyhole bit, slot the back and hang it up somewhere in the house.
I used a 60 deg bit for the whole carve but next time I will restrict the 60 deg to the birds and use a 90 deg for the border design.

Jason was this on the JRGO or the newer router? I have lost track of what you are using.
Thanks Garry
Still the JGRO. It seems that every time I am about to make that final push to complete my new router something more important pops up and the funds disappear.

Well you sure do awesome work on it. I started before you and still don't have a really functional machine. I have been determined to get my 7 th Sojourn functional then let it set for several years. Have it moving again and piloted some of your early files just yesterday.
The 8 and the love joy spider. It is still fun but need to get it to the stage I can cut something....
Thanks for continuing to post your work...
Garry
Thanks for the encouragement Garry.
Keep at it and hopefully you will get it finished soon.
It seems that the site of JCkleinbauer / Crankorgan is no more, its a shame as he was the one who got me started.
