I do not know how. I only can engraving 1bit bitmap photo but that have no detail, I found on net :
    http://www.quagmirepuzzleboxes.com/l...otographs.html
http://www.pictureitinstone.com/ examples of engraving photos and that don`t looks like I maded. Is it possible controling power of laser beam to take lavels of darknes or I must put picture in dots and engraving.

    Next problem is with cutting.

I try cutting 4mm birch-tree plywood and must cutting 3 times( power 95). Is it normal or I doing something wrong.

    Photo Engraving

First I'm new to lasers but did some research. One thing I quickly discovered is photo engraving is not easy!!!

A lot of people are using Corel Draw or similar programs. But one product which got high marks on a few other bulletin boards is PhotoGrav . I cannot vouch for this software but it's designed specifically for laser engraving of photo's.

    Good luck!

    bibi:
Lasering photos is no more difficult than other engraving. I own an Epilog 40watt 24x36 laser and I engrave photos mostly on marble, granite and some wood. Photograv is an excellant program, I use it for my work. Costs $400.00. It optimizes your 300dpi greyscale images for laser output.

For more information, go to www.sawmillcreek.org. Join for free and go to the Laser and CNC forum. Lots of knowledgable people there. Good luck

    Smile photo engraving

Hi BIBI, you can design the photo in two bitmap or greyscale by coredraw, AutoCAD or photoshop.
also can design by photoshop in halftone screen to get a outstanding engraving effect.
    See the sample I attachment.
one is the engraving on the double color sheet. The second is engraving on the wood.
When you do cutting, you also should low down the speed. Just ajust to the high power is not enough
    Best regards,
    Jenny
