High-end SPST (switch one signal) switches (read $$) may be optimized for any combination of:
very low contact resistance, very high current handling, fast action (closing or opening or both), anti-bounce contacts, vibration protection for closure, vibration protection for opening, sealing against moisture, sealing against fluids, hermetic sealing against corrosive/explosive atmosphere.
Then there are the multi-contact switches that can have all of these properties and more, like contact make-break sequences.
Check out mouser.com or digikey.com for some of the varieties that are available.

Tom

Eric,
Can you please elaborate on what kind of switches you used?
If you have any sources like their manufacturer that would be great!. Thanks a lot!
George:
Just reread my earlier post and I feel like a Microsoft help file - lots of information that doesn't give you what you are trying to find.
My apologies.
For most limit/home applications any general purpose switch that has the right size and shape to fit your machine will work just fine. No need to go for special or exotic (costly) .

Tom
If your in Canada, radio shack sells cheapies 3$CAD per. I've got them set up and looks like they'll do the job just fine. They have 3 terminals so you can set up your circuits to be Normally closed or Normally open. they also have web ordering with free shipping. radioshack.ca
