    Limit switch config in Mach3

    Hello All,

I have setup my 3 axis machine with separate limit switches for each axis. So I'm using 3 inputs on the printer port. Is there any advantage having them separate ?. I am thinking of connecting them all in series to save on inputs.

    Cheers,
    Brett.

if you are only looking for limit switches(for safety), then sure you can just tie them all together.
But if you want to use them as home switches, I would keep them individual, then you can hit the home button on mach and you will always know where the spindle is...right?

    Thanks,

Wont Mach3 home the same even if all switches are tied together and you select home as well as limits for the switches in the homing/limit settings ?.

You can change the way it homes by editing the ref all button script. It's possible for all the axis to home at the same time, if each home switch has it's own pin.

As long as the same axis uses the same pin you can define one end as home and limit.
