I need to make some mounting blocks for my 1" linear shafts and was going to use delrin for this. There is no flat stock on ebay that is thick enough right now and any site I have looked at is very expensive. Does anyone know of a cheap place to get it at?
What other alternatives do I have for building these? I think I have seen them made from MDF but would think they would split.
Any comments?

Thanks. What thickness should i get that is safe to tap on the sides and still be thick enough to use? 1" or thicker?

I went ahead and ordered a sheet of UHMW from someone on ebay. The size is 1" x 8 1/2 x 19 which was only $4.99 but the shipping was $20! oh well...
