    Lithophane box?

Anyone have experience putting together 'boxes' for lithophane display?

Or what sort and how much lighting is needed?

I put one together to test an idea... used white LED's, but obviously not enough of them. And it seems it would need a load of them for a simple 7x5 litho...

    Thanks
    Paul

Cut this out of 6" dia. schedule 40 pvc pipe. Used a 13 watt compact flourescent for lighting. Stays cool to touch even when on 24 hrs. a day.

Very nice. What sort of bit and stepover did you use for that?

Unfortunately I don't have a rotational arm, so I'm just doing flat stuff, thus the need for a box.

It was cut with a 0.0625 inch tapered ball nose at .15 inch depth of cut (2 passes). Step over was .006 inch. Speed was 100 inches/min.
