Doing some research here..

I'm looking for people's take on using reground end mills/cutters in production. I know a lot of shops will send their dull tooling out to be reground for a fraction of the OEM price of that tool new. But, I don't see anywhere to buy reground tooling by its after-regrind dimensions (i.e. why can't I buy a reground end mill with the OD/LOC laser etched on the shank from a vendor?).

What are your thoughts on purchasing end mills that have been reground to a certain OD +0 - 0.002, and then listed for sale again? Would you even bother with this? How much of a discount would you expect to make this worthwhile to you?

I've put together a short survey to get opinions on this, and would really appreciate your responses. I'll post results here as well.
