Mach3 - Newfangled Wizard default path

    Hey All,

How do I change the default path for the Newfangled wizard?

My new box with all of it's SD card slots etc. has the boot drive configured as J: and the drive letter cannot be changed for the boot drive in Computer Management.

Changed it to j: in the Newfangled VB init.ms1 script but obviously there are other scripts with c: hardcoded

    Any help is appreciated.

My problem is trying to make a simple cut program with the turn wizard .

I just want to cut a part using a number of passes instead of just two.

    Turn Wizard

You probably have to paste several roughing passes together. I don't see a "step" depth like other wizards.

There has got to be someting out there simple for creating passes on a simple part. I have BOBCAD 18.0 and they say they have a post for it and I downloaded it and the mach3 does not reconize certain codes. Besides, it is difficult for me to use. I believe turning cnc on a lathe is more difficult than using it on a mill or router table anyway. I still have to do everything on a manual lathe. But, I sure would like to get this cnc lathe going.

    Bobcad Lathe post

I agree there has to be something.

Can you create a custom post in Bob Cad?
Complex way to do it... but probably only have to do it once.

Create a simple lathe G-code file with BobCad, read through it with a G/M-code list you might see what Mach doesn't like. Could be something simple.

You could manually edit each G-code file or do a custom post in BobCad.

Does BobCad have a generic G-code post? Use that instead of a Mach specific post. ??

Who knows what bobcad has. To me, the lathe was a total waste of money. Even in the Bobcad book that comes with the program that I wasted money on does not truly explain the process of generating code with a lathe. . What I am going to do is find somebody that uses a cnc lathe and pay him to train me on using it.
