    machine calibration and motor change

would a motor change from say a 3nm to a 4nm motor have any effect on prior calibration? The reason for the question is that on my original build I used motors that I felt were under powered, so I switched them out to a much larger motor. But, in doing so the z axis now wants to plunge straight down and deeper into a cut far beyond what has been set up in the cad design. I am using V carve Pro and Masso is the controller.

    TIA

    its just me

Those symptoms suggest a different number of steps per revolution for Z.Do you have the documentation for both for reference? It also isn't clear whether you switched motors on the other axes at the same time and if they are free from problems. The controller isn't something I know anything about and you may need to ask Masso for help.
