    maximum work size

I am very new to CNC machining.

What is the maximum size of workpiece that the PCNC 1100 can machine?
Is this the same as the X/Y/Z travel dimensions?

Is it possible to machine one end of large part, rotate the part and machine the other end if the CNC cannot reach the entire part?

    Thanks.

This link to Tormach has the PDF for the machine. 1100 Personal CNC Mill | Tormach Has Affordable CNC Milling Machines

Before I got mine, I got a manual. There is plenty of info on everything you might need to know.

Travels: X=9.5", y=18", z=16.25 according to this link:

Small CNC Buyer's Guide -Engineering and Machine Design | Tormach LLC | We provide personal small CNC machines, CNC tooling, and many more CNC items

Actual part size is these less tool dia and clearance on the X and Y, and tool length and clearance on the Z.

Yes, you can move your work around on the table to fit larger parts.

I would say the maximum you could run on a PCNC1100 is 17 long X 8.5 wide X 8 high if you could clamp the part to the table.

Yes you can move your parts. I used to make 45 inch diameter parts on a Haas mill that only had 32 inches in the Y axis.
You can buy GOOD PARTS or you can buy CHEAP PARTS, but you can't buy GOOD CHEAP PARTS.

The main limit on part size is the type of work and your ingenuity.

I lifted this photo from a current thread on the Practical Machinist forum.
