I posted in another thread about a MC-80 treadmill speed controller I have. Well, I found out it is bad. It has a dead short across the AC input terminals. The vendor is sending me another one, but he just told me to toss the bad one. I figure it may be worth having my brother in law (electronics tech) take a look at it and see if it is something relatively easy to fix. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had a schematic for the MC-80 that he could use to help diagnose it. The one I have says MC-80 REV A, part number 154949.

I have the manual for the MC-60 and it shows an SCR drive, so I would guess if the MC-80 is similar, the SCR bridge and/or rectifiers are shorted?
Which should be a straight forward fix.

Thanks again Al :cheers: That's what I figured . I'll test the new one when it gets here and if that one is working then I will box everything up and haul it over to the BIL and let him know what you said. Hopefully this gets it going and I have either a spare or another controller for my lathe. That is whenever I get around to that project.
