    Mechanical Engineer Needed

I have a machine idea, and I need someone to design it. I’m looking for a good mechanical engineer to help me with the design. They need to be able to take my concept and turn it into a working machine. Does anybody know of anyone? The machine in mind will be a 2 axis machine maybe 3 depending on the design. The machine in mind will be like one of those plasma steel plate burning tables.

Also a design such as that crosses at least two disciplines, mechanical and Electrical/Electronic.

What would designing something like this go for. I'm in the steel business so i work alot with structural engineers, but i've never worked with a mechanical engineer. So i have no idea what mechanical engineers work for.

What is the machine envelope? size?
Can you give a rough idea of the application?

The machine size in mind would run around 25'-0 Long x 3'-0 Wide x 4'-0 tall.
The machine will be on the same basics as a plasma table use for cutting out steel plate shapes. Everything from designing the machine to designing a user friendly operator selected input interface to control the machine will be needed.

    Machine Development to Full Function

    Hi Prosteel
I'm in UK but my company more or less exclusively make 1 off special purpose machines - always with custom interface and usually based on customer's own ideas.
Cost depends on lots of criteria - but happy to talk about it (anytime BST 9-5) to start you off.

    Hey DiscoDen

Are you familiar with plasma steel plate burning tables? My machine is very similar to this, but the size and the type of material that it will cut is the only thing that would be different, also a friendlier user interface. Do you have a web site that I can visit?

Well done USA - just seen your team play a fantastic match back from the dead at half time - brilliant!! and I'm not even a footie fan.
Sorry Prosteel we do have a website www.abbotsburyengineering.com - more or less all work we do comes by personal contact or recommendation but contact details are there if you need them.
