milling 1.5mm radius irregular boss with 3mm mill

    Hello,

I would like to generate toolpath for a timing pulley. The radius of teeth root is 1.5mm. I would like to do it with a 3mm mill but camworks refuse to do it correctly.

    Attachment 255168

I have tested many things in the config panel but nothing works.

    Thank you

I think your 10.5mm dim is a typo... but if your opening is 3.00mm and you want a 3.00mm tool to do a profile thru that neck
then the opening should be fractionally larger....or the tool slightly smaller ( another trick is to taper the walls very slightly )
--- try making the tool 2.998mm & see if it profiles correctly

You could also do a plunge cycle at the radius centres to get the form depth correct

    yes,the 10.5mm is a typo, I meant obviously 1.5mm.

Using a 2.99 tool did not solve the problem. Thanks for your advice Superman: I am now using plunge cycles, it's not very time efficient but it's working
