Miltronic’s Partner 1 Spindle Orient Issue

I have a Milltronics Partner 1 that will not start the spindle to turn for a Tool change , It will go to Orient and just stop the spindle will not turn . I did verify that the M27 and M28 will fire the plunger to lock the spindle. Is there a Mcode to jog the spindle to start the orient process? I do believe the Inverter should be triggered to go into jog mode .

    Thanks
    Rob

M18 or M19, I think its M19 should orient your spindle.

I just tried that and it doesn't try to rotate the spindle unless I hit CW for the spindle but then it just spins and does not shoot out the spindle lock.

Check your wires into the VFD. Some are pretty small and it sounds like its not getting the signal to jog when commanded to orient. Its a separate wire for jog than for fwd/rev if I remember correctly.

Re: Miltronic’s Partner 1 Spindle Orient Issue

I got the tools to change kind of it starts the orient process and the spindle lock shoots out. I see the spindle orient prox go on and off as the spindle rotates . I also see the output fired for the spindle lock cylinder on the diagnostic screen, The spindle does not seem to stop rotating. What else does it need see to finish the orient process.

Sounds like something mechanical is wrong. The cylinder should have a roller on the end that drops into a notch in the disk on the spindle. Make sure the roller is still there (I broke one once) and that the disk is not spinning on the spindle shaft.
