Hello there all, I was wondering if some one knew a little about this motor.

my best guess is SST0048 or SST0049 or SST0050 on page 4 of the above link some one out there might know the type i have as the voltage and amps vary quite alot.

It looks like you have a "custom" motor made for a dedicated application.
Try to measure resistance and inductance and you might be able to compare against the above info.

I have a collection of motors here also.
Among them, are 8 units exactly like yours.

I did some tests today. Using a 24V 1.2A power source and my own version of the Linistepper, I obtained these results:

Recovery from stall at 1225Hz,
Maximum speed before stalling = 5200Hz.
Current draw at 1280Hz = 0.45A
Current draw at 5200Hz = 0.22A.

By 'recovery from stall' I mean that a stalled motor will begin turning again, when the pulse rate falls to 1225Hz.

Since these tests were done in full step mode, using the high torque aspect of the Linistepper's firmware, we can readily calculate how fast the motor was going.
As these are 200 step per rev types, the maximum speed I saw at 24V was 5200/200 = 26 turns per second.
Stall recovery speed = 1225/200 = 6.125 turns per second.

At 50 volts, I got shaft speeds of well over 100 turns per second. Perhaps this should not be done, as I think I killed the bearings in one of my test motors.
I left it going like that for 1/2 hour. The bearing makes funny noises now.
Oops .

Considering the size of these little motors, I feel that 1.2 amps is about right. Maybe, you could go higher, but they do get rather cozy.
My router, an all metal build, will be using these little fellas. Two for the X axis, one for the Y axis and one for the Z axis.
I am confident that they will do quite nicely.

Famous last words? hmmmmm, hope not .

I would recommend trying again with the Linistepper in microstepping mode. In most cases, you can get a higher top speed since the steps are smoothed and the motor is not trying to stop and start each step.

Don't know if this helps, but these motors are found in a Diebold ATM cash pick mechanism. I pulled them off to see if I could find information on whether I could use these for a CNC and found this thread. I would be interested to find out if you have success with these as I have been pulling any steppers I find off of discarded ATM parts just for this purpose. They seem to last forever, and rarely have I seen a failure within the motor, usually just corrosion on the connections.
