MintNc for Baldor next move E100

    Hey there.
I'm looking forward to build a cnc Plasma cutting Table for my hobby Garage and now have a x-y Table with Baldor Servos and a Baldor next Move E100. As far as i read i need the Baldor Mint Nc software to get it running. Does anybody have this software or are there other Programs for the Controller?

    Hi,
why did you choose those servos and that motion control? According to ABB the system is obsolete so you are always going to struggle. Additionally ABB have a long reputation
as one of the most expensive solution providers on the planet.

Are these servos that you were given....or were they already fitted or what?

    Hey

I bought the x-y table years ago as a package including the Servos, Amplifier and controller. It was a former industrial foam cutter System. Unfortunately the Software wasn´t there any more. At that time Baldor wasn't part of ABB.
I didn't had the time to finish this projet since. But now as i wanted to restart it i read about Baldor and ABB......and buying a complete new system just because of the Software would be more expensive i guess.....as long as there is hope to get it somewhere.

    Hi,
it might be possible to get rid of the controller but use the servos and the amps.

Can you give some details about the amps and servos? If they are analogue, and they could easily be analog then I'd give up on those servos. You can still get controllers
for analog servos but its going back in time....a dubious choice just to save a few hundred to reuse some outdated servos.

I'd get new AC servos. I use Delta B2 servos, 750W for $438 including servo, drive and cables. Then you could use a Step/Dir type CNC software and motion control system like Mach4, UCCNC,
    Centroid Acorn or LinuxCNC.

You never know you might find a twat who'd buy the old servos, amps and control off you....there's a twat born every minute!

The amps are 2 Ac Servo Drive Dbsc105 for x and y. The z axes for the thc is a MicroFlex E100.
Please keep in mind ..it's just for hobby application..so if it's not state of the art i'm fine with it. I don't wanna spend more than needed. What kind of controller would that be to fit?
The exactly servo type i'll have to look up .

    Hi,
well it looks like those servo drives are Step/Dir drives, and therefore any Step/Dir control solution would work.

I use Mach4 and an Ethernet SmoothStepper board, and that would handily drive those servos. UCCNC and a UC300 would do the same, as would a Centroid Acorn.
All three of these combinations are around $250-$500. All of them tried and trued with big user bases.
