A friend of mine has this lathe and I was thinking about buying it. Any idea about how much its worth??? Neither of us really know.

$200.00 if it needs parts replaced. 750.00 in premium shape.
you've probably already done this deal, but here's my input in case someone else wonders.
These lathes turn up fairly regularly.
At the low end $200 is a bargain. I'd buy any of these i could at $200, even a bare lathe with babbit bearings.
How to tell if it has babbit bearings: One bolt beside the spindle on each end of the headstock.
If it has Timken tapered roller bearings you will have a bolt on each side of the spindle (front and back).
These are solid lathes, but of course the gears are all Zamac (pot metal)
Replacement parts are not plentiful, and used is about all you will find.
If it's a nice, complete lathe, with all the change gears, and basic tooling, Tinken bearings $500+ is ballpark.
Fully tooled, with milling adapter, steady rest, spares etc can go to $800 or more.
These old lathes have some character, and are good hobby lathes. I've owned several. But honestly, if someone is looking at one of these for a working lathe, the Chinese lathes are a better deal due to parts availability and upgrades.
