I am interested in knowing how your project is coming along. I have bought an older Mori SL1 and will be looking into doing something similar

It's coming along I'm about to get it finished up, it should make a very nice lathe when I get it done.

Well guys I'm about to get this project wrapped up I've got the axis's jogging around and the turret logic done,
Now all I like is picking up my field coils for the spindle motor and putting it back in and start debugging.
I kept all of the yaskawa servo drives and spindle drive so all of you guys just wanting to swap out the old yasnac controller and keep everything else it can be done. Just keep in mind the yasnac closed all the relays to ground and most newer controllers will send out 24v dc to close the relays so they all have to be rewired.
