    MSG-501

Hello and thanks in advance. Just took possession of two, Mori SH-403’s. Both have the MSG-501 control. The control says I have 130,000 bytes free space, but I cannot load a core roughing program of 110,000 bytes. On our NL’s, I have used DNC Tape mode to run a large program off the memory card. I did try the same thing on the SH but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas that may help. Once again, thank you very much.

local dealer said it was a 16. I honestly do not know. I wish the builders did not choose to re-label the control, regardless of what the change or add to it.

I think he misled you, the MSG500 was the 16i, MSG501 was a 18i, MSG502 was the 21I, MSG80X was the mits control. Thats what I remember, your data sheets will tell you for sure. Most SH400-403 that I ever installed if not all were 18's of some sort or another. I think the 16 might have been used for the 5 axis machines, and some of the AI controls.
