    Exclamation My Y axis jumped??????

    I have a VMC6030

I had a note from night shift this morning that they heard a loud bang in the machine and when the program finish the part patern had shifted .200 or one revoltion of the ball screw.

when I turned the machine on this mornig to look at it the marks were off by the .200 so I ajusted and refired the machine.

I then pick up my offset and it was another .029 off WTF.(nuts)(Adjusted it)

So now I have run the program 5 times with the offset +3.000 in the Z to make sure we have no more problems becuase the matiral is not cheap I really hate scrap.

Why would the machine move in the middle of the program. I this a sign the Y axis motor is going out, I'm not to sure any ideas would be helpful

    Thank you,
    Kyle

    y axis

The first thing we need to know is this an ac or dc machine the dc have round motors and the ac have square motors, power down and reseat the wires for an ac and for dc reseat the resolver wires and check for damage.this is just a starting point untill we know what type of machine it is we are dealing with.some ac ones also have quick connect wires on top of the cabinet and are also known to cause issues some time reseating will help.

This machine has the round motors on it.

I was told this morning that it also jumped in the X on friday but have to talk to the person that was running it at the time because the never left a note and nobody knows for sure. I will update more as soon as I know.

    Thank you in advance
    Kyle
