Try punching from the machine first so you can verify you have a good file and known format.

I haven't done serial communications since the 1990s, can you elaborate a little?
We are using the correct file extension, .min
Are you talking about what is actually in the NC file itself?
How do I know if I am getting any coms at all?
The machine will tell you if it thinks no wire is connected.
It will do it by that alarm rs232 not ready.
The computer will not say there is no plug, but the machine will.
You are able to get on this forum, so I assume you are tech enough to plug in the cable.
That means the setup info is wrong or the wire is not jumped right.
You have some work ahead of you if you can not readily find these answers.
If you are good at this stuff you will find it quickly.
If not you should call a tech.
The setup would be stop bits, handshaking, baud etc.,
The wire jump deals with the actual wire in each plug connecting to the wire in the other end of the plug. They do not all go straight thru!!!
Check in these 2 directions. (or call the previous post he left a #)
