Need help with 4 axis foam cutting.

    Hi guys!

I need your help. I am busy building a 4 axis wire foam cutting machine based on http://www.homecnc.org/index.php/Cheap_Foam_Cutter
    My PC interface : http://pminmo.com/4axis/4axisinterface.htm
My stepper control will be : http://www.fromorbit.com/projects/picstep/

Now. All I need is the software. I do not want to cut fuselages, wings, plane related parts. I want this for relatively simple forms for me to make LFCs from.

What software is available to interface with this board and the 4 steppers? That's not model aircraft related?
I preferably want to import a .dxf file and then cut from that, but that is not a prerequisite.

Sorry for the newby questions, but I see no use in me struggling for days on end, when you have talent sitting right here.

    Thank you in advance guys!

    Ciao!

hi bakersman, you need to look at deskcnc, it will do what you need. Ive used it to run my foamcutting business for 3 years now. there is a free demo. you need to purchase a control board in order to use the software with your machine tho, the board acts as a buffer and provides better pulse timing than the computer can. i think you can find it on www.imsrv.com if not on www.deskcnc.com. feel free to contact me with any questions im sure i can answer the foamcutting ones.

Hi Ed, would you mind posting some pics of your production machines, products and shop? I always find it interesting to see how people from this site use self built machines to run a business.

    Thanks... Norman
