    Need help for CNC milling set up

    Hello:

    After measuring machined part, I need to make a ajustment to G54, X,Y,Z. I don't know which direction I should move G54,X,Y,Z. when I should Plus or minus?

    Z setting would be the top of part after fixturing.

    work offset X,Y would be oriented to match the X0 and y0 position in your cad.

    I almost always position square or rectangle parts in the Y- and X- quadrant in the cad, like the PIC.


    In the next Pic this is how you would place it in a vise the Black block being the non-movable jaw.

    SO G54 X would be set to the right face of the green block
    and the Y set to the back face of the green block
