    Need: non-conductive aluminum like material

I'd like to know what your opinions are on a material that is like aluminum (strength) but doesn't conduct electricity like aluminum does.

I have heard of Delrin, however the specs on this material is very similar to poly carbonate. It's not as strong as aluminum and bends too easily.

Perhaps someone here knows of a material that's cnc machinable yet has some of the characteristics of aluminum.

The closest you can get to the mechanical properties of aluminum but without conductivity are some of the glass fiber reinforced nylons or polycarbonates. However these are the absolute b***h to machine because the glass reinforcement is so abrasive. It is also difficult to get a good surface finish and the mechanical properties are not really very close to aluminum being something like one third or less for tensile strength and less than one third for stiffness.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

Depending on your needs, anodized aluminum is non-conductive on the surface layer. May be enough.
