    Need Program Suggestions... Help

    Hi All,

I really need some suggestions from you more experienced CNC users. This is the situation: I have built a machine that has three axis X, Y & Z the Z axis is a linear actuator (stepper) the XY axis are NEMA 17 steppers. The machine is designed to press a series of numbers on a custom keypad, at precise times, controlled by a PC using custom test software. I have tried TurboCNC and Mach1 so far, and can make the machine work very well as designed, however, TurboCNC is out as I need to use Win XP and Mach1 has been difficult to work with so far.

Is there a simple Windows program that will control my machine using G & M codes with very little overhead? This machine will never mill, route, engrave or otherwise do anything but press a series of buttons over and over again. I will appreciate any and all information, suggestions and/or comments any of you are able to offer.

    Thanks in advance,

    Marcos (elalto)

    Use My Software

It's Free, Easy to setup, works on XP,Automatic job processing from file (spools directory until file exists then executes the file) Does not yet suppot G-Code but will soon. Very easy to program. For instance here is a program shown below to move z axis down, then axis x and y in a square, z axis up .

    HOME
    changetool 1
    movez 10
    Movexy 10,0
    movexy 0,10
    movexy -10,0
    movexy 0,-10
    movez -10
    Home

email me if you would like a copy [email protected] or download at:

    www.routoutcnc.co.uk/routout.exe

PS when you download the software it has thirty day use I will provide you free of charge licence number.

    Best Regards

    Mike Gaylor.
