    Need small indexable threading bar

Hi guys. I'm looking for a indexable threading bar that can thread a 5/8-27 hole. Everything I have found only deals with threading bars over 5/8. Anybody see anything like this out there?

We have a Carmex threading bar that goes down to .335 I.D.
It's short, however (about .7" depth capability).
    We got it from MSC

Wouldn't be a bit surprised. Everybody is rebranding and buying up everybody else. Good tool, whoever makes it.

Carmex bars are what we use for the small stuff. Not where I can check their catalog, but I think they have a bar that goes even smaller.

Yeah, sorry. We have that smaller bar too but I thought he wanted the biggest bar to fit his hole. I should have mentioned it.
It's even shorter, about 1/2" depth capability. Just guessing about .26 min bore?

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Mactec, do you know a good website to order Iscar from? I may be wrong but I don't think MSC carries many Iscar products.

Hey, I wasn't suggesting he use the smaller bar. Only mentioning that I thought they carried even smaller. I like to use the biggest bar I can without causing problems with chips. Sorry if it sounded like I wasn't agreeing with you. Wasn't meant that way.

LOL, it's so easy to misunderstand on these forums but I didn't take it wrong. I figured you were trying to make the information more complete.

    Hi Crashmaster

Carmex seems to be what a lot of companys are selling in the threading type tooling so I think it would be easer to get there's

Carmex does make some of it's own tooling but they only do thread cutting tooling

If you want Iscar go to there web site & find a rep in your area
