    Network Files.

I'm having a problem with opening gcode files on my two computer (Windows 10) network.

They're visible to TNG2 and can be opened OK with other apps, but when I try to load them into TNG2 they simply do not appear in the gcode pane. This happens with both computers running TNG2 on the network.

However, if I copy a gcode file from either computer's shared folder and paste it to say the Desktop, then it will load into TNG2 without issue.

Besides this little glitch, the latest release rocks!

***Whilst I think about it, can I take the opportunity to refresh your memory about this thread to implement a 'compensated' toolpath display for lathe users, please.***

    Many thanks, Martin.

Can anyone confirm this is a problem for them too?

Mapped network drives are specific to user. TNG runs with elevated permissions and therefore does not have mapped drives available.

You can make it so TNG can access network files as well as remove the UAC prompt that you get every time you start the application. You can use the Microsoft Compatibility Administrator to do this. I posted how to do this quite a while ago. See this thread:

I am not sure if there is a way to do this as part of the install of the pplication, but it would be nice if it could be done.

    Edit registry: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Win dows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
    Add: EnableLinkedConnections
    Value: 1 (DWORD)

I've applied this to both my CAD/CAM computer and my PlanetCNC control computer as in the picture below, but it doesn't seem to have changed anything as files still don't load into PlanetCNC.
    Have I done it correctly?

PS: I rebooted both computers after applying the mod.

    Thanks.
