NT40 toolholder replace with CAT or BT ??

    Hi there,

what type of toolholder i can pick to replace my exisiting NT40 taper? Looking forward BT40 due its availability and wide range of metric models.

The main difference is the flange. BT has a V-groove and much thicker flange, but on the other hand, if NT taper does not have such V-groove then i can assume that that groove does not get used by tool changer? Therefore i can use any taper on NT40 spindle machine?
