Oh no, What did I buy?

I recently bought a spectraLIGHT 0200 CNC Machining Center off of ebay.

    http://www.intelitek.com/products/pr...=2&did=1&sid=1

It didn't come with a stepper motor controller, so I am trying to find the correct board to use. The guy that I bought the machine from told me that the steppers were bipolar, but the motor itself has 7 leads and one more that has been cut short, or are they unipolar running in a bipolar mode cause there are only 4 leads going to the connector? (See picture) Can anyone tell be what I bought and what kind of controller that I should buy. I am looking at buying a Xylotex bipolar board unless the motors are unipolar then I guess that I should buy a chopper board cause they're faster, right?

    Thanks for your help,

8 Wires would be universal. Wired for unipolar or bipolar in various configurations. As bipolar, they can be wired for: half winding bipolar, series bipolar, or bipolar parallel.
