Hi,
I am having a bit of a problem with my rig.


I have an OmioCNC X6-2200. ER20 2.2 Spindle.

The Z axis is loud compared to the X and Y and no very accurate.
Using the tool setter, I establish my 0,
Then going to X and Y and 0

it runs but very badly.

I want to change the settings in motor tuning, I tried and the Z was more responsive with less noise. But I am not sure if this will help with my accuracy problem.

any thoughts?

Mine works fine with the settings that came from Omio - maybe worth taking a video of the problem and sending it to Grace, ask them for ideas?

Especially if it turns out to be a faulty driver, stepper or bearings it's good to get things documented early.

One thing they will probably ask is to try running Mach 3 as the only thing installed on a fresh win7 or XP build to make sure nothing else is getting in the way, and it's worth trying first.

When I installed the motors I tightened the bolts as much as I could by hand. My Z axis was accurate but rather noisy with a kind of grinding sound to it. After tinkering a bit I found out that loosing the bolts for the motor on the Z axis ever so slightly solved the problem. Seems like the plastig spacers for the motors are a bit on the soft side. I wasn't loosing any steps though.
