    Outsourcing, overseas, advice please

We're simply going to have to start sending parts overseas for manufacturing. Cost being a huge factor, simply finding shops willing to do the work has become near impossible (for a price we need to hit).

For folks that have dealt with this, any advice? Places to use, places to stay away from? How to ensure your getting what you are paying for? material and dimensionally? Figuring we'll just destroy a part or 2 from every batch to test material, and check several parts dimensions.

Also best way to find shops overseas? mfg.com, and manufacturingrfq.com are who Im starting with

Start by posting some RFQs right here on CNC Zone. Even when I have posted USA only RFQs I've always gotten several foreign responses.

Chuckle. Yeah, cost will be a factor, closley followed by reliability, tolerance, repeatability, and price hikes.
The in-phrase in the USA machining world right now is 'reshoreing' - bringing the work back home so you get quality and control.
